The Constitution of Japan Exhibition 2024
2024 9.21 - 2024 10.12The Constitution of Japan Exhibition Production Committee is pleased to announce “The Constitution of Japan 2024.”
For the second time following last year, “The Constitution of Japan 2024” will focus on the Constitution and art with Ms. Naoko Sumi, curator of the Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art, as the exhibition director. The exhibition will be held for approximately two months around the date of promulgation of the Constitution at three venues in Tokyo: MUJIN-TO Production, MISA SHIN GALLERY, and AOYAMA|MEGURO.
Inspired by the 2019 publication of “The Constitution of Japan” (edited by Gento Matsumoto, TAC Publishing), this exhibition will select the works that differ from those published in the book and combine them with the articles of the Constitution of Japan. This is an attempt to experience the Constitution and look at it from a new angle.
The Constitution of Japan is the foundation of lives in this country, and all forms of expression are closely tied to that living. We hope that the combination of articles and works in this exhibition will provide new perspectives on the state of contemporary society, trends in art, and our daily lives.
