A dual screen video projection that virtually connects Nashville (a.k.a. The Athens of the South), U.S.A. and Edinburgh (a.k.a. The Athens of the North), Scotland.
On the back and front of one screen, a building that closely resembles the Parthenon in Athens is shown, with Araki in tracksuit running around the perimeter, alternating between the two. On one side is the museum in Nashville, USA, where Araki grew up, and on the other side is an unfinished monument in Edinburgh, Scotland. The two temples, replicas from the “original” Athenian temple, show that they were indigenous to different historical backgrounds. As Araki circles around the building, making it appear as if it were two sides of the same building, and at the same time, the differences are emphasized and it seems to suggest the differences in culture, political history, and wealth of the United States and Scotland, surrounding the Parthenon.
