There are times when the other doesn't appreciate you for something good you have done. This piece is an attempt to express this ordinary notion through Brazil, a country that lies at the other side of the world. (To be exact, Brazil exists opposite of Okinawa, and The Atlantic Ocean is what exists opposite of the Japanese Archipelago.) The thumbs up sign, which implies “good” in Japan, reverses its meaning to “bad,” looking at it from Brazil. Both the dirty joke and the song “From me to you” by the Beatles, disregard the other’s will; in other words, they are both imposing. Even if we use different tools of communication such as words or hand gestures, there are certain differences we cannot overcome.
