Ryohei Usui

Ryohei Usui has been presenting works that can be seen as a contemporary version of “Mitate,” in which he employs different mediums, mainly familiar materials to change the way we “see” things that already exist.
Since 2012, he has been working on a series of glass works entitled “PET (Portrait of Encountered Things),” in which plastic containers abandoned on the streets are superimposed on people living in the city, presenting them as a kind of “contemporary portrait.
