Araki is interested in lanterns, which are said to be the origin of visual media, focused on the potential of shoji screens, which originated in Japan, as “projection screens.
The animation projected by two projectors and the shadows created by their light sources, as well as elements such as voices and piano sounds, spread across the exhibition space in their own cycles without synchronization. This is an attempt to create a journey through the harmony of images, shadows, and sounds and their misalignment.
