A target dreams of becoming a hunter (2016)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink), 91.3 x 121 cm
A victim of bullying has a delusive dream of revenge and empty longing for violence.

Kristallnacht (Crystal Night) (2016)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink), 121 x 91.3 cm
Although brandishing a baseball bat to break windows for protest, it is a fruitless struggle. There is no legitimacy in the shattered glass in Jewish ghetto in the morning after the crystal night.

Go/Leave (2016)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, oil ink), 85.5 x 60.5 cm
Changing into indoors shoes and stepping over the threshold into the school building—this simple action already made her heavy-hearted. The shoe locker was a depressing barrier.

Ghost (2016)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, oil ink, sumi ink, poster paint), 85.5 x 60.5 cm each
Ghost was the nickname given to the artist during her first year at junior high school. Classmates often said to her in front of the shoe locker, “ghost, don’t even come to school.” The way she attended school, often being late for class and leaving class early with a sickly pale face, indeed made her look like a ghost.

Barricade (2016)
marker on acrylic sheet, 34.5 x 47 cm
Simple and high functioning school desks are suitable to build barricades.

Mechanization of a man (2016)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink), 60.5 x 85.5 cm
One day during my evening high school days, a delinquent boy from another high school barged into our school all alone at 9pm after school, driving a white old model Mercedes-Benz. Mercedes-Benz, the machine, gave him courage to bluff.

School Wars Man (Graduation) (2014)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink), 80.3 x 60.6 cm
Japanese delinquent students express their rebellious spirits against school through breaking school windows. Here, the kindness of School Wars Man is represented by the act of breaking the windows completely beforehand, leaving them nothing to break.

School Wars Man (Life and Death) (2014)
woodcut print (panel, Japanese paper, sumi ink), 80.3 x 60.6 cm
School Wars Man is a character inspired by Bancho, a school gang leader in 1970’s Japan. Here, the word “Shi (death, meaning ‘you die’)” is scribbled on the right desk, a typical bullying behavior at schools. On the other hand, School Wars Man scribbled the word “Sei (life)” on the left desk so as to transform it into a different meaning, “Life and Death.”
